Barcelona is calling you.

The city that has everything!
There are a number of rental properties available, so ditch that package tour habit and seek out http://www.waytostay.com/ ....There you can choose either a modern apartment...or something more traditional. Whichever you choose, the freedom of an apartment is far more enjoyable and you can choose to eat at any of the nearby tapas bars, eat whenever and wherever you want. No fussy dining rooms or ridiculous time constraints.

The older part of the city is "Born" a criss cross of narrow and traditional streets, where people amble about their day and you can spectate from one of the many street cafes. Around the outskirts of this area is a more modern, cosmopolitan feel.

Whether planning a short break, or maybe a week away. if you have lots of boxes to tick, look no further than Barcelona...it has just about everything that a city break can offer and more. Built on a grid system the streets are lined with top end boutiques and small one off stores. A shopaholics paradise. Be sure to pay a visit to-
Mercat de Sant Josep/ La Boqueria
La Rambla de Sant Josep
Barcelona, España.

Barcelona's best-known market, ideally situated on La Rambla, this market is a must whether sourcing ingredients for a fine meal... or just wandering through. It's an assault on the senses.

Produce ranges from ready-made fresh fruit salads and smoothies for the tired tourist, to literally fresh out of the sea and still moving crabs and lobsters.

Barcelona is treasure trove for those interested in architecture and fitting in all of the hotspots is a job in itself. Below is a snapshot of some of Barcelona's treasures taken from my abstracts page. This is the city that Gaudi amongst others is famous for.

Seafood fanatics should not miss out on a visit to http://www.laparadeta.com/ . Every night the queue snakes it's way around the block, it's well worth the wait for a table. Choose your items from the freshly caught seafood on display, pay and the chefs will cook your seafood while you wait. I have to say the squid is the best I've ever tasted, simply melts in the mouth.

This city can also offer a clean sandy beach, somewhere to chill and take a dip, or just spend a lazy afternoon. So what are you waiting for?

The truth is my idea has been to always stay at Barcelona and see out the rest of my career here. Like I always say, one doesn't know what can happen in the future, but if it were up to me to decide, I would stay at Barcelona for the rest of my career.
